The Siili Quarter has become the most attractive new integrated residential area in Tartu, with eight modern apartment buildings planned on an area of around 4.2 ha. The apartment buildings were located on the outskirts of the quarter, and Tartu’s first and largest private park was planned in the centre, with a variety of activities – a playground, play and sunbathing benches, a pavilion, an artificial pond and a fountain, which was transformed into a skating rink in the winter.
